SALES ASSISTANT

Job Opening: Plant Nursery Sales Assistant at Landosol (Pty) Ltd

Responsibilities

BASIC PURPOSE: Facilitate the sales process by providing exceptional customer service, accurate product information, coordination, and support to the sales team.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Administer and coordinate customer communications, including product inquiries, order confirmations, and follow-up communications.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, assisting them throughout their purchasing journey, including product selection, advice, and sales transactions.
- Support sales initiatives by promoting additional landscaping services and representing the company at local events, exhibitions, and promotional activities to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement.
- Assist the sales team with inventory management, ensuring products are displayed attractively and adequately stocked.
- Initiate and follow up on customer orders, ensuring timely and accurate processing and delivery.
- Facilitate the flow of sales transactions, maintaining accurate records of sales and customer interactions in the sales tracking system.
- Review and process customer feedback and inquiries, addressing concerns promptly and effectively.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

EDUCATION: Matric Certificate or equivalent. Some post-secondary education or courses in horticulture, or a related field will be advantageous.

EXPERIENCE: 2 years of experience in a retail or sales environment, preferably within a plant nursery or related industry.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Must be proactive, organised, accurate, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to prioritise multiple tasks simultaneously. Must demonstrate adaptability to changing customer needs or unforeseen circumstances. Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential for engaging with customers and team members. Strong customer-centric abilities to handle inquiries or concerns from clients. Sound judgement and discretion are essential when dealing with customer information. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred, with an emphasis on Outlook, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of or ability to learn WooCommerce online sales systems will advantageous. We are particularly interested in someone who leads a stable and sober lifestyle. A valid driver's license is necessary.
