Basacote Plus is a controlled release NPK complex fertilizer which is fully coated with patented polygen material. The product is used by nurseries for potted ornamentals, top dressing and fertilisation of planting holes. Basacote Plus contains all nutrients required for healthy growth of plants. As a result, additional fertiliser applications are not necessary. Mixing into substrate is recommended directly before use. Each granule is coated with a patented polymer coating giving the fertiliser an extended-release period. Basacote Plus 6M has a rated longevity of 6 months. The application rate varies from 2-5g per liter of substrate used (about ¼ to 1 level teaspoon - depending on the plant feeding needs).
The Basacote® technology
■ Each fertiliser prill is evenly coated with an elastic polymer that controls water penetration and thus the dissolution of nutrients inside the coating.
■ After application, moisture slowly penetrates through the pores of the coating, dissolving the nutrients which then dissipate into the soil by osmoses diffusion.
■ The coating ensures a controlled nutrient release over 6 months.
■ All micronutrients (B, Cu, Fe, Mn, Mo, Zn) are supplied in every granule, mainly placed directly under coating layer.
