Description
The big prominent deep green, heart shaped leaves are held on gorgeous black and white, mottled petioles. The plant gets its name from the striking zebra-like stripes on the petioles. Instead of ornamental flowers or foliage, the Alocasia zebrina is mainly prized for its stems. Overcollection in the wild made the plant rare and costly after its introduction.
